Default Need help with purchasing a 1995 Seville SLS.

I’m looking at purchasing a 1995 Seville SLS with 143,000
The car is in good shape but does have some issues.
1. Both rear windows on back doors will not roll down.
a. Is this a fuse or corrosion on the electrical connection or bad motors?
b. It seems odd that both would be bad.
2. The stock radio has been replaced with an after market radio.
3. The trunk fuse box has a couple of wires that are connected to the fuse terminal.
a. Possible for the aftermarket radio.
b. Would this affect the rear windows?
4. The blower motor will only blow air out the bottom of the dash board.
a. Not from the middle of the dash or above the dash.
5. I did take the car out for a test drive and it responded pretty good.
6. The rear had an extra bounce to it, but not to irritating.
7. Everything else seem good, the interior was good the moon roof worked.
8. Under the hood the dealer never cleaned the car. It was dusty.
9. The dealer is asking $2995.00. However, I plan on offering only $1,500.00
10. Are the issue fixable and what else should I expect to replace.
11. What should I have checked out before deciding to follow through and will this be a reliable road trip car.
Thanks,
clampet

quick and dirty inspect ...

I have always said that one should plan on spending around $1,000 to bring a car
to a satisfactory condition, no matter what the condition of the car is. Tires NOT included.

A good "guess estimate" is about $300 per issue to repair.

i would also test the coolant system for exhaust gases. THAT should be your #1 inspect item.

if the suspension is "bouncy" add another $800 for repairs?

We took the Seville out for the day. I have to return it on 9/6/007.
The car runs good, We made a deal for 2000 G's, if I want the car.
1 issue to deal with.
The blower fan, on the dash does not work but the rear seat blower fan works and the AC works, and the condenser kicks on and the system is cold.
but can't get the blower to push the air or heat any ideas on cost or to fix?

clampet....i guess it depends on what you want...... by the sounds of things, you'll neeed to put some big $$ into the car IF you deceide to purchase it........ to get the bounce out of rear will be costly......1st does the State you live in have a State inspection???? and does the car pass that inspection??? start there...... now,,,, what do you drive now???? oh, 35 years in the car buzz......i'll try and help you........ (oh by the way....isita new car dealer, or a corner lot?)... that would tell me alot about the car........2nd if you have the car for a day or so, take it to your wrench.....have it checked out.... ...... i have lots of stuff to help you with in the purchase. let me know about these things first........

Well I always liked the caddy's in the 90's but want to make sure I make a good decision, I"m ok with high milage cars,I like 4door mid size cars, I live in South Dakota and the car is in good shape for the year, and I'm working on a good deal. I have purchased a car before from this dealer and they are a Caddy dealer, I have him at the bottom dollar. I hear so much crap about high milagecaddy's buyhmost people don't know how to turn a wrench. I have limit knowledge but a passion in the biz.
No state inspection!
GM Dealership!
Temp ran at 216 max today!
Blower system won't kick in!
Thanks for being here!

clampet.... ok, its sounds like you feel pretty good about the car....... and the dealer! thats good. so you think you have them at bottom $$$?....well, ask them to check out why the blower motor doesn't come on, and also check the shocks........ you would like them fixed before you buy the car...... i wish you were able to take it to another wrench (mechanic) and have it looked at....... the dealer will tend to sugar coat the problems, in hopes to sell the car........ are you able to get like a power-train warranty for a month, and 1000 miles? that would be good!
in any case i would say that you can work the dealer for something else...ie: blower motor, or shocks........ if he declines....walk away......leave it go for a day.....he'll call, and work something out........trust me.................good luck dude......let me know what happens.....
