I am hoping I can get some help. I have a 2003 Seville SLS. I recently removed the passenger side rear wheel to check the brakes. I removed the two bolts that hold the caliper and removed the disk. The pads were good, but I cleaned off some of the rust from the rotors and put everything back together. I did not hit the ABS wire that connects to the wheel assembly. However I had to move the wire around a little while I loosened and tightened the bolts.

After putting the wheel back on I tried to start the car. NOTHING! I get some dash lights but no click or anything. I am suspecting something in the ABS system is causing the problem. I removed the wheel and checked the ABS wire connection and it appears OK. But still I get nothing when I try to start the car.

I think your battey is dead.

 

Yes, brakes has nothing to do with the starting system.

 

Yes, somewhere in the process, you ran your battery down. Maybe left an accessory light on, doors open, hood ,and trunk open, etc...would all drain the battery. If your battery is really old, you might pry off the top caps and make sure it has adequate levels of water in all 6 the cells. Just because batteries are called maintenance free, doesn't mean they really are.
