CVRSS Module & New Battery Dead
I have a 98 SLS with 70K miles. Several months ago the levelride compressor seemed to be working overtime...the car was not leveling when loaded. Had it checked by local dealership..they said all new struts and compressor needed. $$$ Decided to drive as-is for a while to ponder options..NEVER had any codes or warning lights...A few weeks back the battery was dead in the morning. Jumped and drove to dealership (they "could not duplicate"), and bought a new battery. A few days later, dead again. Towed to dealership. They then said the CVRSS module is bad and draining the battery. CAN YOU HELP? I have the set of service manuals, but I am not a mechanic...at all. I have started to read volumes 2 & 3. Can I pull the fuse on the CVRSS and keep driving for a while? ($$$)...is there a way to confirm it is not working? Also, is there an aftermarket company that makes struts that will work correctly? The price on the module is at least $850, and of course all four factory struts is well over $2000. It is a great car that I would like to keep, but even the labor would be more $$$. I have 6 Cadillacs, and this is (was) my daily driver. Thanks for your help - Jeffrey
