Default Confusing Problem??!!!

Ok here it is. I go out, try to start my caddy, she just turn and turns for a while then fires up!!! Ok... so I am driving down the road about 5 minutes later , stop at a light, go to accelerate, and she is dead wont start back up just keeps on turning but wont fire. I check the obd and It says po 12 wich corralates to a ( no signal from distributor). So I pull the cap and wires, cap is in good shape , but the prongs that ran to the wire harnesses were all rusty and some of the hit points in the cap was corroded. I sanded and cleaned best I could , reinstalled the cap and fired her up. She turned right over!!! Now as I am packing up my tools patting myself on the back she just dies on me. I try to start but she just turns and turns....... So does anyone have any intamate knowledge of the cap and rotor system???? Can you maybe point me in the right direction ... Or is it simply a new cap and rotor???? And please guys,,, some help would be nice. My last post had like 50 hits but not one suggestion!!!! Thanks to all that help.. Damn these things are hard to work on!!!!!!!

Default RE: Confusing Problem??!!!

Ok... I got a new cap, rotor, and ignition coil, installed them all. Car fires up, drive her home, shut her down, then....I try to start her agin. SHE WONT START AGAIN! I check theobd, and PO 12 is back. I removed the cap and rotor, tested the Distrubutor ignition coil and its good, checked the best I could for continuity and power through the whole systen and trhink I have it down to the ignition module. PLEASE!!!!! If anyone knows about the ignition system hit me with some ideas.
