Car will not start
I have an 89 Seville in excellent condition. Recently on a rainy day it shut off and now will not start. It is getting fuel, but no spark. My mechanic is very good, but we are very frustrated. Any suggestions will be most appreciated. [:-]
Hey Vendor:: The two main things I can think of are the coil and the ignition module. My module went out on me . You can take it out and some of the parts shops have a tester so you can check it before you buy a new one. Short of that you might have a wire broke off somewhere. I'm assuming that being an '89 that you have the HEI system, check all the wire connections in and around the distributor when you have the cap off to get at the module.Good luck.
this is a 4500, right? cant be that weird.
the guy is a mechanic?
check coil output,
check distributor for rotation,
check distributor output at the cap,
check timing,
by the time you do all that, you should have
the problem identified or licked, including whether
the igniton module is ok..
or, am i missing something?
