thanks a buch the GM dealer said i had to have a 4WHEEL alignment and have the struts profesionally installed and was going to cost me $2100 for parts and labor plus the alignment and i went to my local freeway muffler and brakes and they said that i should only need a 2 wheel alignment and they would do it even cheaper than the GM dealer. so i was a bit lost but atleast i know i can put the struts on and pay freeway to align it for $65 and i will only have spent a total of about $1000. i hate being overcharged for things that can be done yourself. I do have the tools but sometimes i get lazy and tend to rather take it to the shop.

i got my stuts in last wednesday and I installed them myself after overlooking what needed to be done. so basically it was just a plug n play diy project that took alil under 2 hours to do everything even though the labor book says its a 2.5 hour job. things all went smooth and i was satisfied with the results. If any body is having the same problem and you have the basic socket set you can easilly do this your self and there was no alignment issues at all for those that were told or had concerns about that.

I have same blown air bladders on rear shocks on my 98 STS. Were your shocks GM replacment or aftermarket? I got quote of $1800 for GM replacement rear shocks.

yes that sounds about right the gm dealer was going to charge me $850 per strut but i had decided to go with the monroe oem replacement wich ran about $440 per strut at advanced auto with limited lifetime warranty. its up to you though some pple prefer oem i think the car rides just as good imo.
