Default '98 STS Seville don't want to start

Hi!
I'm new to the forum so hello everyone. I have 1998 Seville STS, everything was good till today. I drove to work, everything fine, but i could't start in when i wanted to go back home. when i turn the key into start nothing happens. The battery is 12V, i charged it to 13,4 V and it didn't help. All electric things works fine, audio system, seats, lights, etc. Tomorrow i will check the fuses, cables. What can be another reason ? regards, please help

I had a similar problem early this year, turned out there were a couple of poor connections on the many negative cable terminals. We originally thought it was a bad starter motor and the workshop I had the car recovered too removed the started and tested it, only when it tested OK did they then search through all the negative cable runs.

Hope that was of some use.

Guys in car garage say all the cables connections are ok and this is a starter failure, and i'm afraid it will cost a lot.

I have a spare STS I am breaking/parting for parts and still have a very good starter motor. Where are you located? I am in the UK so if you are anywhere in Europe you might want to consider this as an option, otherwise if you are in the US there are lots of places you can obtain a starter.

Ebay is another option, will also give you an idea what used pricing is like too.

It's not too difficult to remove even though it sits right in the top of the V block.

Regards,

Craig
