Hey,
Pretty new here....and Im kinda at my wits end. Had an issue with my power steering pump so I took it to my local shop. Basically, we have been having a really hard time finding the correct power steering pump. Car has been sitting there for about 2 weeks because apparently the pump I need is not made by cadillac anymore and the junk yards around where i live are having a hard time finding this part as well.

The pumps the shop has been getting and the one I ordered apparently cannot be mounted because of where my reisuivoir(sp?) is mounted. What my mechanic says I need is a Full 9 TDI pump. Part numbers are Fenco 6239 and SP16239....I have pics of the pump I purchased as well as pics of where it needs to mount in my engine....Any help as to where I can find this part would be GREATLY appreciated.

P/S pump in the pix not designed for Cadillac 4.1,4.5, or 4.9 V8 in anything nor the big blocks either. Reservoir is not correct for any of them, but maybe a Northstar only.

 

Cool. Thanks for the reply. Have any suggestions as to what P/S pump I would need for a 4.9 V8 non-Northstar? Maybe A OEM Part number from GM or a pic for reference maybe? Not trying to sound lazy, but Im complete last as to where I need to go to find one of these...This part has been STUPID hard to find....Seems that everywhere online hasnt had what I really needed.

 

Dealer or AC Delco supplier may list a complete unit. Most of the time reservoir and adapter for it are transferred to new pump.

 

36516239 GM part number, without the resevoir. I can't imagine it's that hard to find, the same pump is still listed as being used on 2005 model GM cars. It's also used on literally 20 different model lines. There's no way it's discontinued.

 

Thanks guys. Found the part....and I found the resuivior too....That apparently was the hard one to find. had to get off E-Bay haha. Thanks though. May be back here soon!

 

I'm in the same boat but I need the plastic adapter that connects to the pump to the reservoir and lines. It's been two weeks and I've been to two yards with no success. ebay has pumps and pumps with reservors showing they fit my 92 sts but the photos do not show that they do. I have a reman pump and the reservoir but need the coupling. Anyone know of yard with several 92 sts's?
