Default Power Steering Pump Removal

Can anyone give me some insight as to removing the POWER STEERING PUMP on my '97 Deville. It Looks as though I will need the A/C evacuated so that the (dryer ac***ulater) can be removed, allowing space to remove the power steering pully with a puller. Can someone please tell me of another way so that I won't need to pay a shop to discharge and recharge my A/C system.

DON'T TAKE THE PULLEY OFF UNTIL YOU REMOVE THE PUMP.

Also just take off the belt, remove the pressure and return hoses.
Then one 13mm bolt holds the pump on.
It is between the rear valve cover and the pump. The bolt goes through the pump vertically.
That's all there is to it. Mount it in a vice and swap pulleys.

I think it takes longer to swap pulleys than to r&r the pump.

ALRIGHT!!!!!!! MAN I CAN'T BELIEVE IT. THANK YOU!! I was sure I was going to need the pulley off to remove the power steering. Once I read your instructions it took me 30 minutes from start to finish to have the new pump on and working fine. ALL HAIL TO FLCaddytech for your help.

I never did this on my Deville but did do it on a 92 Bonneville, it looks like the same pump and it is even located in a similar spot even though the Pontiac is a V6. It was done in half an hour as srchapman says following FLCaddytech's professional guidance!
