Hi there,

I'm new here and just by chance happened to run across this thread. This problem started for me just yesterday! Maybe this experience can shed some light on the issue.

I just recently bought my 2001 seville sls. Everything was working fine, all windows rolled up and down at the touch of their dedicated buttons as well as the drivers controls. I noticed there was a broken clip on the passenger "window button faceplate" (don't know what it's called) and it was loose. I took the faceplate with the button attached off, and unplugged the electrical (intending to replace the whole unit itself). A day or so later, my buddy wanted to put it back in, so he re-connected it. Only, this time the switch wouldn't work at all. The passenger couldn't roll the window up or down. But using the drivers controls I could. We detached and reattached the unit and then the passenger was able to roll the window up. Driver controls still working perfectly.

I was reading and master switch would be a logical explanation..

Anyone have any other suggestions?

Okay, so I grounded my test light and started poking the passenger window control prongs (after once again unplugging the unit) and I was able to roll the passenger window up and down if I touched the right prong. Clearly, in my case, I had some burnt slots on the button plug-in.

Even though I'm pretty much just talking to myself here :P THANKS to everyone who replied to this thread. This sounds like a common problem..
