1995 Seville SLS Cruise Control problem
Hi there, I'm new to the forum and couldn't find an answer to my problem with my Caddy.
First off, I'm 20 and got my '95 Seville when I was 16 from my dad when he bought a new car. I absolutely adore my sweet Caddy and want to fix what's wrong with her!
Anyway, I am having a problem with the cruise control. The last few years it would work on and off, but within the last year, it has stopped working alltogether, which makes driving long distances a little harder. My personal mechanic, my father-in-law, and I can't figure out how to make the cruise work again. What happens is that when I press the button for it to activate, it says on the dash "Cruise Activated" but nothing happens...I just start decelerating as anyone would when you take your foot off the pedal.
Any suggestions or reasons why the cruise isn't working, and any tips on how I can fix it?
Thanks much,
Matt O.

Possibility that a va***me hose may be a problem, but not certain i may try to dig up more info on this as im not too familure on the north* engine as tohowit works.
Ditto on the vacuum line, but also check the fuse. Plus check the cables (they're on pulleys right next to the cruise control unit under the hood). Make sure you don't have a broken one. Check the cruise release switch that presses up against the brake pedal arm (you'll need a flashlight and a good back as you'll have to stick your head under the dash were you can see the brake pedal arm move when you push on it).
