85 Seville Cruise Control
I had posted this once before and finally had the chance to look at it,but still no luck on the cruise.I had checked the pod, replaced the vacuum lines, fuses good, switch on dash lights orange but does not activate/light green at speed. What is the correct adjustment for the switch on the brake pedal.I replaced this also but wondered what the correct adjustment is.Could it be the cruise lever on the column thats bad ? Thanks for all the replies,Bob J.
Hey BOB;: The brake pedal should only be depressed about 1/2" to disengage cruise. On the other issue it ciuld be a whole bunch of things,Vacuum release valve, speed sensor, turn signal switch, power unit solenoid valve, controller. You said that light was green at speed, check for short in harness between switch and controller connector. If ok then replace controller.
The cruise dump switch is adjusted by fully inserting it into the retainer till the pin in itis fully depressed against the pedal, then put your foot under the brake pedal and lift up. You will hear a ratcheting noise as the switch is forced thru the retainer to the proper clearance. Same as adjusting the brake light switch.
The cruise lever (turn signal lever) has 2 wires that enter the steering column and run down beside the turn signal switch wiring. Under the dash, you will find a 2 wire connector that connects the lever switch to the servo under hood. Make sure that 2 wire plug is, in fact, plugged in. The colors of the 2 wires can be seen entering the column from the lever.
