1980 Seville 5.7 Gas. Starting Issues
I have a 1980 Cadillac Seville with a 5.7 GAS engine for California. The car runs like brand new. However, it will, without any notice, after starting up, sputter and die. It will crank, but not start. If you walk away from it it will start in about 8- 12 HOURS.Thats fine if you are in your own driveway, but sucks if you're at the gas station after filling it up.
It does not matter if the engine is cold, or if the engine has already warmed. You simply don't know when it will do it. It could be first thing in the morning, or if you drove it a mile to pick up a loaf of bread at the store.
I had a mechanic look at it and he changed the spark plugs and that didn't help.
Attached is a video showing what it is like when it is not starting.
Anyone with any history or ideas? Thanks!!!
