1980 Seville 368cid backfiring and running rich, stinking of gas
No codes. I ran 3 cans of SeaFoam in a half tank of gas, no help.
Sprayed the throttle body down with a half can of CRC Throttle Body Cleaner while activating throttle cable by hand - VOILA - problem virtually gone - no more rich running smell, no more back firing every time I let off the gas - went down a hill at 60, came off the gas, dropped into 2nd, and got 1 little half-hearted pop, but that was it.
Problem solved as far as I am concerned.
