Default Instrument cluster quastion.

Sorry, but this was probably asked more then ones. I’m new here and after searching only found that if there is a problem with a cluster that you have to remove it and send it out. I have a problem with a RPM and Shifter positioning left side is DIM, works but no backlight. Right side is perfectly lid. Is that something I can fix my self ore do I have to send this out? Thanks.

ability to post here is unpredictable but lets try.

check the harness connection and if that is not the problem, contact
Dick at www.allantesoure.com .. fixing it depends on many things ..

also, you didnt specify either year model or digital vs analog.
its important

i would pull the connector, clean contacts and try again ..
if that fails .. you may be facing the purchase of a replacement unit.
between $100 and $300 in the used parts markets ...

you can also opt for an analog but make sure you also get the bezels and the mileage on the analog cluster will not show your car's mileage (its mechanical) like a digital that reads the ECM.
