Anyone know the difference between the starter of 1993-95 fleetwoods and 1996.
I started limo the other day and crunch and clang. So I removed starter to find broken nose that fell in inspection pan .
It would clang as ring gear would hit it, fortunately I didn't run it too long and ring gear didn't pull it in to the bell house.
Looking for a new starter I found that there is model 480 for 93-95 and model 488 for 1996. My 1996 had the 0480 starter
which is for the 93-95 models what is the difference , I can't find any info , and did that lead to the broken nose . The starter on my car was previously replaced so something is up since car only had 80k miles . Too few miles for starter,and starter was a Ultima remanufactered brand, house brand of O'Reilly's Auto Parts..
