Default Getting a '88 Brougham, some questions.

I just picked up an 88 Brougham for 100 bucks. All it needs is a back seat window anda leak in the brake line fixed and shes good to go. Good tires, strong running 305, and is in solid shape. A few things I noticed is that the climate control works, and seems to heat up and cool down, but it only says 60 degrees no matter if I go up or down with the temperature. Also the "level ride" light sometimes comes on, and stays on, but it seems to be working fine, I mean the back end isnt sagging at all. Are these just goofy electronic gremlins that are nothing and I should just learn to deal with or could they be morecomplicated and cost me a fair amount of bucks?

If you can set temp on contol head. you need control head. Level ride light will come on when compressor comes on.It may be normal, the higher than normal rear attitude could be from adjustments made to get 90-92 rear level look vs. the rear down of the 89 and earlier cars. Hope it helps

Hey Cruisin: To start off with you would be highly advised to get yourself a good service manual. Pay the money now because it will save you big time. One cannot afford to keep these cars long unless you are prepared to do most of your own work. One of my best investments was an Electrical Troubleshooting Manual. It is an original factory service manual and has all the schematics for all model systems. Another good purchase was the Advance Service Information Manual, both from Caddy and the latter has all the trouble code info. Both available at AutoRepairManuals.biz Good luck with that.
