Default looking at getting an 04 cts want some info on them

I am looking at getting an 04 cts with the 3.6 in it. Wondering about these cars I have posted in 2 other sections and no replies. I just want to know how they are, how they hold up, the ups, downs, goods bads. Stuff like that just want to know if they are good cars before I go and buy one. So if some people can get back to me that would be awesome. Thanks!! Well with this post and the other 2 I have ion different areas on this site its over 300 views and not one reply!! I think that I better check on a different site where they are helpful!!!!! This has proven to be a waste of my time!!!!!

Well from what I under stand is the 3.6L is a good engine, but it all depends on how the previous owner treated the car also. If he beat it then you are going to be in for fixing his problems. Usually at around 100k miles the timing chains should be checked and replaced if needed. Do it yourself and it's probably around $350 have a mechanic do it and depending on their rates you're looking at $550 - $1000. Regular maintenance is a must with these cars and they're expensive when you have to buy parts, (cause it's a Cadillac). If you're not prepared to pay the higher prices for parts, premium gas and insurance then I would suggest to move on.

asking such questions on general web sites can be a waste of time .. do your homework on statistical costs of repairs on your specific model, check the sites and see what the owners have problems with .. .. .. also, your inexperience is brightly displayed, so if i may, it would be a good idea that whatever car you are looking at gets a professional inspection .. the $50 to $100 you spend will be worth many times that !!!

as to specifics in your question, I like the CTS DI cars, i love the CTS-V, the other models are a bit too conservative for my taste, but nothing here speaks to the reliability of the CTS .. I will leave that up to you to do the research ...
