Hi Ya'll I was wondering if anyone might have an idea what this problem might be. I have a 2005 Ext. And lately its been one thing after another. With my son in Michigan Me and My elderly mom in Arizona her and I have been working on it ourselves. And NO that's not the problem Here it is, I thought my starter had went out so i bought another one, and I went through normal paces ruling things out to get to that deduction, tested fuses battery which is only a month old btw I switched relays with ones that I knew were working, Tested fuses, Banged on the starter and it started, well it started 3 times with that and then not again. swapped the starter out still nothing. Got lights and dings no crank, no click just silence same as before. So I told you that to tell you this, New starter on Brand new battery dead as a turd. And wont take a charge that's weird right. Also for a couple months leading up to a couple of days before my starter or whatever quit working I had a very annoying clangity clangity clang noise that we could not diagnose. Because when your under the car or the hood, whether its running or not there's is absolutely nothing to see that could possibly be making that noise and I had several other people who you would think more knowledgable than us look at it and one guy actually said i need an oil change? #@$^? What? This noise could be heard as soon I started and when the car was put it drive the faster I went the faster it clanged like it was attached to my drive train and it got worse until two days maybe the day before it decided to puke on me AGAIN the noise stopped and I though bout time that ****ing heat sheild or whatever tf fell off. However on the way home on that trip I shut it off to get gas and there I sat for 12 hours until someone rescued us. Its been a month maybe more were still stranded. And like I said Lights, Dings no click no crank the fuel pump is engaging, Cant be solinoid cuz it came new on the new starter....Oh yeah fun fact the old starter was tested and it still cranks. I'm thinking the only thing left is the ignition or a bad wire somewhere.. I'm looking for some insight here guys cuz im an hour outside of phoenix and I NEED to be mobile aside from loosing my mind in the desert, We and have been out of everything necessities like water and food store are depleted, and because only being able to get as far as the gas station, money is also depleted. I like my Caddy, But I like my sanity more. Insights? Ideas?
