I just recently purchased a escalade and now it is showing "service tire monitor". It does have custom wheels on it. What does that mean and how do you fix it?

 

Are tire pressure sensors there? Many times they are not, just the regular valve stems installed in custom wheels and tires. If they're not there message will be displayed.

 

Does it damage the car without the sensors?

 

No..........

 

They are a safety device. What will hurt the car and you , is if the tires go under inflated and you have no tire monitors to advice you.

If YOU paid to have those custom wheels put on and the tire shop left them out, OUCH !

You aint gonna believe what they cost to replace ...

 

I had the same problem. Assuming that the sensors are installed. You may need to replace the monitor which is located on the passenger door window and lock control. I did it and it worked. Know, the situation I have is that it also control the remote controls and I haven't been able to program the remotes. So, if you can live with the message don't do anything.

 

Can you remove the sensors from the 04 EXT wheel and install them in the 07 EXT wheel?
