Default Recovering from break-in

My door lock was punched out (very cleanly) and steering column shroud was removed, but luckily, that's all. However, in a post test of the alarm system, I note my lights do not flash but the horn does beep. How do I get the lights to flash as they should? For a DIY repair, what will I have to buy? Will the lock cyclinder be ruined? (have not removed door panel yet). Also, the tilt-steering lever had been removed but I re-inserted it to get steering wheel back to normal; now, I can't get it back out to re-install the steering colum shroud.

Other than being interruptrd (don't know), is there a reason that they would have given up so quickly without breaking something on ignition. or steering column, i.e., once at this level, can one determine if the next step will likely lead to failure?
