Default CA Smog Pump removal

I have a 1967 from CA and all the smog pump is still connected with breather tubes to the heads & carb. Is it possible to plug those and remove the entire pump assembly? What needs to be done with the carb?

1. The AIR pump is not harming anything, assuming the system is still working properly.
2. If there's a problem with the system, might as well fix it--if you can scrounge parts to do so.
3. If you MUST remove the AIR system, there are several potential methods. I suppose most guys would leave the check-valves in place (assuming they still work) leaving the tubes in the manifold ('cause they'll be rusted in place.) Take off all the hoses, remove the pump itself, and the (separate) belt. The diverter valve goes with the pump.

Photos of the system could be helpful.

Awesome. I am trying to clean up the engine bay and those hoses and the additional pump are just eyesores. I would for sure keep it all for the next guy if he wants to put it back to stock. I guess what I was wondering is if there will be any starting issues or ???? once the manifold tubes no longer breath air into the system. And capping off that port into the carb will probably neccesitate some jet adjust or ??? Any hard info you have on that?

Shut the hood. Not an eyesore then.

Unless you wreck the old stuff because it's rusted together.

Nothing else needed if the job is done properly.

Again...photos would help. I don't have a '67 service manual or car to look at.
