Question 99 Eldorado ETC Traction Control

I recently bought a 99 Eldorado ETC and the traction Control lite is on. i checked the fuse I thought would be associated with it and all are good. I also have a good code reader and its not putting out any codes. What next to check? Thanks in advance for any help!

Low brake fluid most common cause. With key on engine off try pressing off and passenger warmer button for 3 seconds obd should display codes on DIC. You code reader may not read all systems in car.

No CURRENT "C" codes displayed. A C1243 in History though.

The C1243 Relates to the ABS Pump Motor. The motor is part of the ABS unit located on sub frame beneath water pump, You want to make sure ground wire terminal is clean and tight it is near ABS unit. Check condition or ABS connector terminals , connector can corrode when exposed to leaking antifreeze. Last ABS harness runs close to fans make sure it not chaffed /cut by cooling fan. If everything is in good condition you likely need to replace abs pump or complete assembly

Question Slowroll..I need your advice again...

What are your thoughts on the Northstar engine? Ive had two people today tell me personally that they are junk and to dump the Eldorado as fast as I can. One guy i bought a set of oem wheels from who said his died at 85K because of the "dreaded" head gaskets. Whats your take on this motor being a experienced tech? Im not about to dump it as alot of cars have problems and can be overcome or they simply just arent taken care of or run into the ground. Im willing to stick some $ into mine to make it last. What should I look for or and whats your advice on this motor..Your input is much appreciated...Thanks, Dan

I got mine with blown head gaskets which I replaced. Nothstars are awesome engines, but can be god aweful cost wise to fix. I drove mine for a week second gear only turning 4500 rpm on Interstate did even both it. shifting into second at 6300 rpm. The 3.73 in the ETC,STS, Allante' 4T80e Makes it so much fun. I Put 50K on it before a texting driver total lost it.
