Default 92 Eldorado starter question

While replacing my starter, 92 Eldorado 4.9, I found a small wire that goes on the grounding stud broken off. The larger wires are grounds for the battery and A\C compressor, but I can't find where this third ground wire goes. Any help ?

I don't fully understand the question.

What stud is broken? Off which component?
The ground wire is off, but you don't know where it goes? If its a ground, then it goes to ground.
Do you need to know what it is grounding for some reason?

Sorry I wasn't clear, I was typing in a hurry.
There's a grounding stud that is screwed into the block. The stud is fine. There's a ground cable from the starter and one from the battery that go to this stud, they're fine as well. There's also a 3rd, smaller wire, maybe 24 ga. that grounds here as well. This wire is broken. The wire connector is still on the stud along with about 3 in of wire. The problem is, I need to find out where this wire goes because currently, no pun intended, something isn't grounded and I don't know what component it is.

As I know how a starter is enrgized, It needs to be grounded near its base or mounting point, it needs posi cable to the stud at the solenoid magnet and the smaller wire coming from the switch to a smaller pole on the starter solenoid. This soleniod/relay serves the purpose if enrgizing the magnet to engaging the starter drive & starter motor This is the basic discription of starter function in general. .
