Default 4.6 starter question

97 deville. Must replace starter. Do i have to drain the radiator before removing intake manifold?

If I remember correctly, there is no coolant going thru the intake on the Northstar, except in the throttle body...I've only replaced the starter on one, and that was years ago....

Thanks for the reply. It's gonna be below zero for the next couple of days. I'm stuck working on it outside, so, if I don't have to mess with the coolant......

There is no coolant running through the intake. Get a set of intake gaskets and don't forget to disconnect the battery.

Thanks for all the advice. I got my gaskets today but it's still one below ..... maybe tomorrow. Gotta get done before the Packer game!!! lol
