1991 El Dorado Touring Door Panel Removal
Anyone know how to remove the door panels from a 1991 El Dorado Touring Coupe. I am replacing the speakers and I can't find a good step by step procedure anywhere.
Thanks in advance

RE: 1991 El Dorado Touring Door Panel Removal
This is actually a pretty easy removal with the right tools. You will need a door panel removal tool, these usually come in a 3 piece kit with different shaped tools. You will need this to pop the plastic fasteners out of the door skeleton, but make sure you grab the head of the fastener and not just the panel. This will rip the fastener out of the panel. There are some screws to be taken out as well. They are located under the pull handle, one on each side. You will also have to disconnect the wiring from the switches on the back side. I did this from behind after prying the panel up from the door so I didn't have to mess with prying out all the electricals.
Are you replacing the speakers with stock or aftermarket? Also, do you have any pictures of your car?
Like stealth said, the FSM is the best place to look for this info, and that is what I use when I tear my cars apart. I have also found the GM parts book to be very helpful as there are some great illustrations.

You might be able to still get that from GM, but who knows, some specific colors may be long discontinued. I think your best bet is a junkyard car with low miles/clean interior.
