"Service Stability Sys"
2004 DTS w/over 100K miles, recent plug change, on long road trip started popping up with "Service Stability Sys" while driving. No other symptoms. Can remove by touching Info button on right of DIC; but, will periodically re-appear. I re-set, then will come back later. I cleared all codes, took a ride, and re-looked at codes, which were ABS C1287 and IPC U1016, both History, no current codes. Reason for SSS? A must fix? Can I take 7K trip w/o worry?
TKS; but, what is the ABS C1287 code for? It was HISTORY, indicating a fixed issue. Could it have been pointing to the fronts, which were replaced @ 88k (now 103k) w/rotors turned, etc. Rears were hardly worn.
There is something wrong with the signal from the steering wheel position sensors. It could be a bad sensor, a bad circuit, or even a bad EBCM. Turning the steering wheel super fast will also set the code.
Clear the codes and see if the problem shows up again. If it does, check the connectors for corrosion.
