Dts ,,, repairing it yourself
I have 3 Devils and one DTS (misspelled on purpose) the devils are hard to work on because of the amount (NOT) of room around all of the components. I like the cars, but they are the DEVIL to fix. I cant for the life of me understand the logic in the water manifold change in 06. I just changed a water pump on the 07 DTS, while I was there I changed everything related to cooling. It took a total of five afternoons to get everything right. One of the worst things was the lower transmission cooling line. I snapped it in and pulled back on it to test the lock, did the same with the top then put on the lower hose and went ahead with the rest of the close up. Everything back on but the shields and grill clips fire it up the line blew out and put about two quarts of my garage floor. Well anyone who knows where the line is under the bottom radiator hose know you either have to drain it all again, OR take the top radiator cross support off pull the fans, pop the radiator out of the mounts and move all of the wires out of the way to get the thing back in, I tried locking it in again and it seated BUT the clip was in the wrong position in the connector from the factory apparently and one leg did not lock. the rubber retainer was not seated but you could not tell from the top. I tried the clip in all three positions over and over, and none seemed to lock in. After two hours of twisting an pushing and i quit for a while to keep from shot-gunning the car. I went to the old radiator clips I had from the old radiator and did the same with the in the tow positions that were different from the original first and no luck. I put it back in the first position pushed and twisted the line and all three of the legs locked in place. I could not tell any difference just looking at the clips except there was a little flat place on the original. So the devils have spawned the Devils Son Terror. I am in mind of a 3800, turbo motor from a Buick Park Avenue Ultra to replace the 300 horse NS that went BOOOOMMMMM big time in the 97 devil. Looks like wiring will be the worst thing since NS has a world all its own. More room and super reliability. Anyone done it let me know I am gonna do all if the 97 works out and gonna start buying up all the dead NS cars I can find.
