torque converter clutch problems
SoI recently got my 94 deville running again, and after I put in my new ICV I read off all the trouble codes. Now there is code P039 H coming up and my check enginge soon light comes on after I drive it around for at least ten minutes. When I referenced the codes it said that P039 means there was a Torque Converter Clutch error in the PCM history, but never current when I check the codes. What does this mean, and what are the effects it has on my car if anyone knows? Thanks.

RE: torque converter clutch problems
TCC is not working, will hurt fuel economy. If car has over 100k miles there are several things that can cause it. There may not be any immediate problems caused by it not working

RE: torque converter clutch problems
So does that mean I should change it? How hard would that be to do, or how much do you think it would cost to get it done? Yeah, I have 146000 miles on it since last month, just over that now. And if I let it go what could happen to it?

RE: torque converter clutch problems
It will be ok for a while. You do need to find out if cause is in the transmission or not. Reman trans 1800-2500 + 8.0 hr labor. If this is a Concours it will likely be higher to replace. If you don't have factory manuals, have it checked out by a qualified shop.
