RE: shocks
You guys are probably talking about the switch on most Lincolns. When the Lincolns are lifted the sensors tell the system that the car is too high and to let all the air out of the shocks. When the car is lowered to the ground, it pinches the bags and usually tears holes in them before the car can inflate them again. Cadillacs are more sophisticated and the system does not do this. Plus I think the whole suspension is configured differently. Better? I don't know. you can bypass the whole Lincoln system and put on regular gas charged shocks if the system goes out or the airbags tear. Shocks cost about $25. Not with Cadillac as most well know. I am in the midst of a similar situation. Could not find struts and have had lifters put in until I can order them from strutmasters. About $300 per pair.
