Default struts/shocks

I just replaced both front strut assemblies, and both rear air shocks on my 2001 Eldo ESC with 47,000 miles. Besides the INCREDIBLE amount of money GM gets for those parts, the car still rides rough. I am told that it usually takes a few weeks for the computer controlled suspension to get itself re-programmed and the car would then ride smooth, again. Is this correct?

I don't recall that car having any kind of adaptive (learning) suspension.
It's always active but shouldn't need any relearning if all its components are functioning properly.

Did the dealer diag your ride quality problem as being bad struts?

If so ,you would need to wait the amount of time they recommend.
If there is no change from the original problem then they should recheck the car for you.

Now if the struts were replaced due to age or because they were leaking, then a complete diagnostic check of the ESC system would be in order.

Keep in mind that tire brand, age, condition and air pressure also affect your ride quality.

Thanks for the info. Basically. they were all worn out!!! The service people (and parts people) both said it would take a while for the new shocks and struts to re-program themselves. The rear shocks have a computer inside, and they basically control the entire suspension. Or at least that is what I am told. I'll give it some time and see.
