P0741 no SES light?
I have a 99 deville with 75,000 miles on it and a few weeks ago my SES light came on because my gas cap wasnt on tight. I obviously put the gas cap on and reset the codes and the SES light went off just as it should have. I decided to pull the codes last night out of boredom i guess and found a P0741 code marked as history but it wasnt there when i checked the codes a few weeks ago. The SES light has not come back on since the gas cap incident so i am at a loss as to when the P0741 code occurred because i have not had any issues with the tranny. I am concerned because i have read in several places that this particular code is pretty serious but my car doesnt seem to display the symptoms of this code. Could this be a glitch or do i have a real here? I am also baffled by the fact that the SES light didnt come on when this code popped up.

RE: P0741 no SES light?
so i read through the links you posted and found a way to test the TCC but it didnt explain it clearly enough for me to understand the results. I drove the car with the SES light off steady at 55mph and tapped the brake slightly and the RPM's went up slightly like it said it would. What wasnt clear was whether or not that was a good sign or a bad sign i am obviously hoping that means the TCC is actually working properly. Please let me know so i can relax a little bit because i am in no position to get this problem repaired at the costs i have seen so far..Thanks for all the help!
