I searched 92 deville trunk issues, wont retract, trunk, etc. So i did search.
I am wondering if you all have any help for me.

First of all i did not slam it shut, but i did forget that it retracts on its own, so i opened it up with the key when it didnt close. I tried to pop the trunk hoping the motor would extend and it would close after that butttttt it did not. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks all.

 

Does the motor have any life at all. Start by checking inline fuse, should be near motor. Does the horn work?? Check that D-switch is closed with lid up. Check for good ground,Check that hook-striker switch contacts shaft of striker assembly. If it won't release check WDO circuit breaker.Check continuity of trunk release switch.Have beer at every step of procedure.
