Default trunk wont close by itself

like a lot cadillacs,my 94 fleetwood has the trunk pulldown feature where you barely push it closes and a motor close it automatically. The problem is it will grabe ahold of the trunk, but it will not close all the way. I have to push against it for it to go all the way down. Is this a bad motor? Where is the trunk motor located?

Default RE: trunk wont close by itself

First off the pull down is located right at the latch behind all of that beautiful finished upholstery in the trunk. Remove the plastic push tabs then gently lift the upholstery over the latch in the trunk and you will see the entire mechanism. There are three bolts that hold it in place an a four wire connector. That's it, very easy to rempove and replace.

Now you say it pulls down but not all the way. That could be a latch adjustment on the deck lid closer, there is a bit of adjustment in the bolts there.
