Hoping someone can help because I'm stumped. I have a 2001 DTS with 64,000 miles MINT condition. Runs perfect never had any problems. I drove the car on a 1300 mile trip just last week no problems. Drove it home from work yesterday around 4 and went out to head to work this morning hit my unlock on my remote and nothing. Used the key to unlock hopped in turned the key and...........nothing. Go to turn the key back and it wont budge out of accessory. Thought maybe I left a light on and ran the battery dead so i grab my girls car and attempted to jump........nothing. Not even a flicker on the dash the car is comepletely dead. And for whatever reason the key will not come out of the ignition. Wiggled the shifter and steering wheel to make sure it was locked and in gear and no chance the key will not come out. In my model the battery is under the rear seat and I haven't pulled it out yet wanted to see if anyone had any ideas first. PLEASE HELP!!!!

 

I think you have a battery ground issue. Even with a boost if the ground is bad it won't start. I suggest cleaning each battery terminal and connections well, shinny clean and seeing what happens. Is the battery the original? I am at a loss about the key. Make sure grounds are good and tight.

 

Could it be an issue with the security system ?

That was my first thought too, my 97 Seville had the same problem, and no one seems to know the cause, I ended up selling the car, I made buyer aware of the problem.
