Default 2001 Deville radio

I just purchased a 2001 Cadillac Deville and the radio doesn't work. The person I bought it from( a Good friend) said it worked fine until he had the windshield replaced. Now when you first turn on the ignition and hit the power button on the radio, it comes on for a few seconds and goes off. It's like it's looking for something and didn't find it. This is an OEM non Bose system , Please help.

Default RE: 2001 Deville radio

The radio is connected on the Class 2 data network. Its rare but the communiction between it and the amp can get scrambled.

Try disconnecting...then reconnecting the battery. Basically you are resetting the system. The battery is under the rear seat.
