Default Oil Leak due to High pressure on plenum @ cold temperature

Just wondering if anyone else has had the joy of getting their valve cover gaskets replaced because of GM's greater engineering idea towards the plenum valve and oil filler tube?

I just installed the upgrade kit which was pretty easy and I'd say worth it even if you haven't had problems yet. But I don't know if I escaped having to get my valve cover gaskets replaced cause it had already started to leak onto the headers. I'm hoping it stops leaking, I figure I'll give it a week and if I still have a leak I'll have to bite the $1300.00 bullet.

Has anyone heard if GM is going to put out a recall on this? I talked to a dealer and I don't know if they were blowing smoke up my *** but they said if they have enough problems with it it might become a recall?

Default RE: Oil Leak due to High pressure on plenum @ cold temperature

There is a tsb about this concern having to due with ice build up in pcv system on vehicles operated at below 30F or -34c degrees. Ice blocks pcv tube causing crank case pressure to build up. kit availible contains new pcv vent pipes and filler tube with cap. Gen III small blocks can be effected same way. The 1300.00 is a bit over board in cost. If out of warranty labor to install kit should be .6-.7 hr. To replace cam cover gaskets on both sides 3.0-4.0 hr. + no more than 300.00 in parts. 1300.00 you need to find new dealer or have sevice dept. Manager explain estimate. Post explaination I would love to read it.
