Default No power, surging problem

I have a weird problem that just started on an 04 CTS with 55,000 miles.

I was driving down the highway and pressed the gas to go faster and nothing happened. If I pressed the pedel all the way the car would try to downshift but the engine would not rev at all.

I pulled off the road and turned the car on and off and it worked fine again.

Tonight I got in the car and it started right up. When I gassed it it wouldbarley rev at all and I turned it on and off again and it worked fine again. Well the problem started to happen at a few stop lights and the fix was to restart the car.

Any one ever had a problem like this?

You need to have car scanned for codes. Condition is likely related to electronic throttle control. Check connector for throttle actuator. Post stored codes.
