Default camshaft sensor location

I did a quick search but couldn't find what i was looking for. My dad has a 2004 CTS and had a code pulled that said the camshaft position sensor is bad. He's not the most mechanically inclined and asked me to fix it for him.
I live in Vegas and he's in Michigan and I'm going back to visit next week and am gonna replace it for him.
I was wondering if anyone knew where the sensor is located, how hard it is to replace and what tools I will need?
Also if anyone has a diagram or service manual that would be great too.

Thanks

According to my 05 CTS service manual 3.6L, "This engine uses 4 camshaft position (CMP) sensors, one for each camshaft." They are located on the front of each cylinder head, in front of each camshaft and held in by one bolt each. On the left side, (drivers) you will have to remove power steering fluid resevoir bolts and position it out of the way. Dont disconnect the lines. On the right side exhaust you have to remove the ECM bracket bolts and position it out of the way. Do not disconnect the ground wire and do not remove the ECM from the bracket. Right side intake is accessable with out moving anything. (supposedly)! Good luck!

Unhappy HELP!!!! 2007 Cadillac 3.6ltr v6 CMP Bank 2 sensor CODE P0024

I CAN NOT FIND THEM!!!! I have been searching everywhere and this particular engine.. the 2007 is laid out differently than previous years and later years.

Does anyone know where these sensors are?? I have to do bank 2.. (code P0024..which is passenger side) I have removed the top cover..I have looked by the ECM area... I have looked by the valve/exhaust area.. still nothing.

I know the part is a one bolt part with a plug (most likely 3 wire or close to it)

All internet pictures are from other years and models of the same engine type.. however.. it is not the same on THIS engine... Hoping someone can help me ASAP.. helping a friend and hate to have her go spend hundreds of dollars somewhere when I can do it for her for free...

Thank you!!!!

Since it is a VVT engine there is a little more to it. Go by dealer there is a special policy related to timing chain it maybe in effect for you car. Parts dept can print off pix of their locations. You could also get digital FSM or subscription to alldata or Mitchell on demand. GM went away from paper manuals in 2000-01.

Also you should your own new thread. Old threads, over a year unless you started it and it's a continuation, may not get looked at.
