Default 2009 CTS vs. 2009 CTS-V

Between both of these models which car is going to be more comfortable to drive and have more isolation against these terrible bumpy roads?

I know the CTS-V has magnetic suspension but I understand generally supercar performance vehicles like the CTS-V are usually stiff riding but handle better and since the CTS-V has a sport suspension with bigger tires I think that the regular production V-6 CTS with 300 horses is a more comfortable riding car where I won't feel the bumps in the road as bad?

From what I understand of both cars is that they are two completely different cars. I think the CTS is a wiser choice for 99% of drivers as it will be more comfortable and refined for daily driving. 300 HP is nothing to sneeze at anyway. The CTS V with 600 HP or whatever number they decide to publish has 19" tires with a side wall as tall as pencil laid down flat so most likely a rock hard ride. While it is statistically impressive completely impractical for the world we live in in 2009. Would I ever own a CTS.....for sure, would I ever own a CTS V....you betcha!

I see the regular CTS will have regular tires and suspension so it should be alot more comfortable so I won't get bounced all over the car on these bumpy roads. I have ridden in cars with "high performance" suspension and the ride is just too much that it hurts me bouncing up and down. I can't even change a radio station in those stiff riding cars. The CTS-V probably has what they call low profile tires which don't have much cushion between car and road. I guess the CTS V-6 will be alot less expensive to maintain and probably more reliable?

I just got my first caddy the day after xmas, an 09 CTS4. Im in love with this car, after years in the honda world, I can honestly say the CTS is the best car Ive ever driven in. The ride is ultra smooth, with the windows up, no outside noise, just so many extras, Im in love. I test drove a CTS-V, they are awesome as well, but not nearly as practical as a daily driver than a CTS4 3.6

We had our 09 CTS accessorized from dealer with the Vogue VTXi package and it looks a little bit like a CTS V without the price tag. Of course it doesn't come close to all beauty of the CTS-V but it comes close and we enjoy it. I hope you don't razz me too much on my custom painting done like I ended up getting on another forum. I just want to post to give others an idea of what they can add to their car.

Sue, your cts looks GREAT. Why anyone would razz you about that I haven't a clue. We don't do that here anyway. On another thread I just posted that black would be my favorite color. Your car explains why better then I can in words.

Good luck with it.

G.A.R.Y. thank you so much for your comments and especially on the forum matter. It is so good to know that YES there is forum where members are kind, considerate and respectful of one another.

Stealth thank you as well. Yes, I'm the Belle. Here is the photos of the interior. We're Disney fanatics and that's why it's Disneyfied.

Does your car have a manual transmission? Or is it just the new style shifter boot?
I'm curious about the rarity of V-6 cars with manual transmissions. Either way, very nice ride. Mike.

It is automatic AWD; I wish it were a V8. This Spring looking at upgrading wheels but not sure if I want to go black or chrome. What are you members thoughts on each. Would black be a little easier to maintain? We live in Illinois with the Snow and Salt unfortuantely. The CTS will rarely go out in winter but still concerned about salt on either wheel. I would appreciate your input and opinions.Thanks.
