I have a 2008 Cadillac CTS. On Sunday, I used a foam vent cleaner to clean the AC vents. However, on Monday morning, I was unable to turn the AC off and when it was off I could not turn it back on; the buttons were unresponsive. I disconnected the battery terminal for 5 minutes, and everything started working again. But after turning the car off and going for a drive 2 hours later, the issue returned. When the AC is on, I cannot turn it off. Removing the battery terminal temporarily fixes the issue, but I’m concerned it will happen again. The other buttons on the console would not respond either; only the volume **** and the tune **** are working.

After doing some research, I found that this is a fairly common problem, and some people have resolved it by replacing the radio unit instead of the console. Any suggestions before I go ahead and replace the radio?
