Hi everyone!

I've got a CTS 3.6 Auto and after parking the car up and coming back to it, the key will not turn in the ignition at all - won't even turn the ignition on, never mind crank the engine. The car is stuck in park.

I've tried some WD40, jiggled the key in every direction whilst moving the steering wheel (which is locked), tried tapping the ignition barrel etc.

I'm over in the UK & there's very limited knowledge of this car here so I'm hoping someone on this forum will have an idea of what may need replacing?

I've read there's a common problem with the ignition barrel on the CTS but usually the key won't turn off - mine won't turn on!

Would welcome any help please.

 

W7NNS, sorry to hear about the issues you're having. You should be able to speak with one of the dealers in the area and they should then be able to contact the correct department.
