Default Blower not working

Hello all. I have a 1989 Allante and am working on the HVAC system. The blower is not working. I disconnect the blower motor and ran power directly to the fan and it runs fine. I then disconnected the blower motor resistor and connected that to direct power and the fan motor also runs fine that way. I removed the blower motor resistor and did a connectivity test to each connection. I only seem to have connectivity on one post. My problem is whether or not I am doing this connectivity test correctly. There are four connector pins on one of the plugs and two connector pins on the other, yet only one of those are used with a large red wire running to it. One of the four pin connectors on the blower resistor is connects to a purple wire which is the wire I used to check the direct connection to the fan motor. I am not sure if anyone can help in this matter but if you have any information that may help, I would appreciate it.
