'69 Sedan Deville, 472 won't start
I bought a 1969 Sedan Deville about a month ago. I was very fortunate in the fact that it was owned by the same family for the past 45+ years. The day after I brought it back I got it started after putting a new (supposedly) distributor and (supposedly) a new coil. It hadn't run in over two years but it when it started, with minor carb adjustments and timing adjustments, it ran really well. On top of that, I am very confident that its the original engine and trans. Now here's my problem, a couple of weeks ago it started having problems with cutting out and dying. I thought it was a fuel pump, so I replaced it. I thought it was a coil, so I replaced it. I thought the timing was off so I pulled the valve covers and reset the distributor to ensure it was timed correctly. It has a new plugs and wires, a new battery and a freshly cleaned out carb. I know it's getting air and fuel, and i know it has good compression. the only part that I myself have not verified as good is the distributor. It was brand new in the box, and never used, but it potentially is over two years old since that is the last time the previous owner had it running. I am completely stumped and need help, since i'm new to these beautiful land yachts, I'm not sure what I could be doing wrong, or that I'm overlooking. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
