Default 2000 DTS Overdrive

Irecently boughta 2000 DTS with 104,000 miles clicked. It seems like when I let off the gas it goes into overdrive but drops back down a gear when any gas is applied. So I checked the fluid and its pretty not pink.SoI figure this isthe first thing toaddress.I called Independent Transmission to schedule a transmission service (change fluid, clean filters, adjust bands?, replace gaskets). They wont do a "service" on anything with a pre-existing problem. So am I wrong in thinking that they just want to get a repair out of me. Or is this something that is definitely a repair issue. Also I have 20" inch rims on her, is there any chance this would have something to do with it. Being the speedo is off so when I apply any gas it thinks I'm going 65 when I'm really at about 72 and the RPMs are higher than what they should be? I dont know. Please help> It seems you guys love codes but I havent seen in the forums how to get them yet. I also have an issue with the interior lights not working at all, but Im freaking about the tranny.

Your trans shop of choice doesn't make much sense to me. I would pick another one. If you elect to do a transmission flush, and you have problems it may only make it worse. In the old days they would check your fluid, pull the pan to see what's in it. Now a days I would have car scanned see if any codes are there. Then have them service ,not flush transmission, so if there something in pan that doesn't belong there it can be addressed. As far as where to go.... the the place with the best reputation ..... which isn't always the cheapest but you should be able to trust thier not going to rip you off.Hope it helps
