Default drilling the firewall

hey everyone, figured i'd ask some people who know whats up before i just go around drillin holes into my firewall to run my wires for my amp.

i got a 94 concours that i want to add an amp and some subs too. i've got everything ready to go into the stock system other than the wires. got the LOC to add the amp into the 6x9 lines, got the amp hooked up to the speaker and posted to it already, pretty much all i've got to do is get power to my trunk

so this is where i run into a problem. i've done installs before, but on cars other than newer cadis. and everytime ive tried to run wires there was already a hole in the firewall to run em through. i was lookin at my firewall yesterday and the only place i saw that was accessible was already taken.

so what im askin is if anyone knows a place that i can run my wire through without having to drill into my firewall? then, i just wanted to make sure the speaker wire runs down the drivers side in this car, if anyone can verify that...

Also, if i do have to drill into my firewall where would be the best place to do this at?

Thanks guys (and gals)

i just did this like a month ago, you're gonna have to drill from the passenger side of the hood into the passenger side compartment. You might have to take out the glove box and see exactly where you want the hole to be so you know where to drill. First drill a tiny hole to see where it's at from the inside, then if it's where it has to be start drilling up to the wire size and put a rubber gromet on it so the metal doens't rub on the wire. The rest is all kibles and bits, run it under the carpet or sidewells to the trunk, run the cables underneath the back seats and you're done.

thats what i figured i'd have to do, thanks for the info...

i have one more question, and it may make me sound reatrded, but im not tryin to break my interior up... can i just pop the plastic interior trim off like on the older models, or is there a screw somewhere holding it down? i've tried lighlty, but dont wanna break that like i broke the freakin garage door thing on my roof (check in the DeVille section if you feel like readin about that little blunder)

so i figured i'd just run the wire from the hood compartment down into the door jam and slice a small hole in the rubber tubing already holding all the wiring for the door.

but ive been trying to figure out how the heck to take off the interior floor trim and its making me sweat, literally![:@]
ive been trying to figure out how to get it off cuz i found that its on there wth a bunch of little posts that i have to slide it off of. but theres absolutely no room in the car to slide them more than a few centimeters, and thats not doing the job...
if theres some easy way im not doin this could someone tell me please. cuz ive come to the point where i feel like just ripping all of the trim straight off, but i know id regret it later so i havent yet....... YET

It's as much as I can help you, I don't know how your car is exactly, you can just run the wire in a plastic tubing along the edge of the wall, tie with with plastic ties and cover it with the carpet and you won't be even able to notice it. Or you can find somewhere to run it throw and run some fishtape (metal hanger like wire) to run the wire through the firewall.

so i decided to stay away from completely modifying my firewall with big shiny new holes and decided to go the less conspicuous route with slicing a hole into my door's wiring. i just ran the power cord from the truck compartment, through some very close quarters down to the door. from there i ran it into the door where the other wires all go iinto it.
the hard part was figurin out how to pull up the carpet to get the wire down... i tried pushin and pullin it all over the place with no results. i was P.O'ed! finally figures it out though.. pull up, duh!
so heres everything i did, and a look at my HUGE stereo system. its nothin too nice, but it sounds great to actually have some bass in my lac finally
