Cadillac into truck?
Thinking of a '56 or thereabouts 365 into my '55 Chevy Stepside. The truck is alreadyequipped withthe original 265 small block and a 3speed. If I can find an early 390, I'd do it. Thoughts? I'm trying to put in a pic of the truck, but I can't seem to get it right.

RE: Cadillac into truck?
After some thought, maybe it would be nice to give a little history on the truck... My dad bought it in 1981 , when I was 6 years old. It was moved from L.A. to Seattle in 1989 when Dad relocated, and moved back to L.A. in 2001. Dad has not registered the truck since about 1996, hence the Washington plates. Right now it's sitting in his backyard ouside L.A. It served as a daily driver from 1981 until about 1990, when the Seattle hills proved to be too much for the brakes on it. Dad gave me the truck last year, and I've been waiting for my trip out West this fall to get it running again and see how reliable it might be for a possible drive home (Dayton, OH). Dad thinks I'm nuts, but he's willing to help get it going again.
Here's a couple more pictures - mainly 'cause I like to show it off.

your probably better off with a 350 or 327. A 383 stroker would cool as hell but if you want to keep it period correct I get that. Its a good looking truck. When you decide what engine you want let me know and Ill ask around.Im not too far from you (south chicago suburbs) and alot of my friends are drag racers so small blocks are plentiful.I just got a 350 olds w/ a turbo350 trans for free.
