96 cad sedan deville concours transmission problems

hello my name ljpp33 i have a 96 sedan deville concours Northstar and from one minute to the next it will not go past 1st gear (N) (R) & (P) work and of course 1st gear HELP please

not enough info but if the shifter is stuck, check and look for coins or misc stuff that may be jamming it.

if the shifter is NOT stuck, we need codes.
