92 deville transmission problems..
I have a 92 deville with 76k.. I am smelling a real sweet smell coming from engine... car starts fine but when i put in drive and proceed to go i have to push the pedal almost to the floor to get it to get to 2nd gear ... the engine revs... pedal to the floor once it hits 20-24 mph it works fine.. reverse works perfect ... mechanic showed me how to manually shift from D1 to 2-3 but shouldnt have to do that any advice would be greatly appreciated thankx

Needs a trans rebuild. The more you drive it like that, the worse it will get, and the more it will cost to repair.
The sweet smell is antifreeze....you likely have a leak, and if you smell it from inside the car, it is probably the heater core leaking.

Car Transmission was working fine,Took car into shop for tune-up and brake repair,Shop says car is done,tune-up,brakes are repaired but now car wont move in any gear, transmission has always worked without any problems until automotive shop maintenance,Fluid is full and in good condition! Brakes adjusted too tight?
Tell the "shop" that did the tune-up that the car drove in, it should drive out. They need to repair what they screwed-up.
