Default Another Air Ride Question:

I bought an '02 DeVille a few weeks ago. It drove level during that time.

A few days ago, the rear end was so high that I felt like I was pointing almost straight-down while I was driving.

Later that same day, the back end started to sag and has been sagging ever since.

The ride is okay, but I can feel the rear end being low. The muffler scrapes over speed bumps if I have passengers, otherwise it rides decently.

So, if the car rode very high and then mostly low in the same day, what could be causing that?

I have been getting a RIM C0660 code ever since it rode really high. Does this simply mean the levelling sensor is bad? Or is it more complicated than that?

Default Same problem...

i had the same problem with my 98 deville. i took it to the dealer where i bought it new, and they told me the sensor malfunctioned and it put so much pressure on the air ride that it ruptured the air shocks. they give me a estimate for 1985.00 to fix it back. so i was ready to take it and trade it off and a buddy of mine told me about the replacement shocks..........
so i started huntin the internet for the conversion kit... only to find out that the kit was about 400.00... so i kept huntin' and found that www.justsuspension.com had the conversion kit, which includes both load adjust shocks from Monroe and these are sensatrac... the kit was only 117.00 from justsuspension... with free shipping... and i got them installed today and my car rides better, handles better... then it did when i bought it new.!!! it raised the back of my car up about a inch more then normal... the ride now is outstanding.!!! so i paid 117.00 for the kit and 100.00 to get them installed... (217.00 Vs. 1985.00)...
